HyperOS 4 Global Update: 6 Xiaomi Phones Get Beta Builds

The HyperOS 4 Global update is making progress, with new firmware builds listed for six Xiaomi smartphones across international and European regions. The latest tracking information shows that Xiaomi 17 series and Xiaomi 15 series devices are among the first to receive Mi Pilot builds.

But there’s an important catch. These updates aren’t available to everyone yet. They’re currently marked as Mi Pilot releases, meaning access is restricted to approved beta testers.

HyperOS 4 Global Update: Eligible Xiaomi Phones

According to the firmware tracker published by HyperDroid, six Xiaomi smartphones have received HyperOS 4 builds for the Global (MI) and European (EU) regions.

Here’s the complete list of reported builds and their current status.

Xiaomi deviceGlobal (MI) buildEurope (EU) buildStatus

Xiaomi 15OS4.0.0.11.XOCMIXMOS4.0.0.14.XOCEUXMMi Pilot

All six devices currently carry the same release status in the supplied tracker. None of these listed builds is marked as a public or full release.

I find it interesting that Xiaomi is testing HyperOS 4 on both its newer flagship models and the older Xiaomi 15 series. That’s encouraging for existing flagship owners who don’t plan to upgrade their phones anytime soon.

What Does Mi Pilot Status Mean?

HyperOS 4 Global Update: 6 Xiaomi Phones Get Beta Builds

Seeing a firmware version online doesn’t necessarily mean the update is ready to install on your phone.

Xiaomi’s Mi Pilot program allows approved testers to try upcoming software before a wider rollout. This helps identify bugs, compatibility problems and performance issues before regular users receive the update.

The firmware tracker distinguishes three rollout stages:

  • Mi Pilot: Limited availability for approved beta testers.
  • Public Release: A wider rollout, initially reaching approximately 30% of eligible users according to the tracker.
  • Full Release: Broader distribution after the initial rollout passes stability checks.

That means even if your Xiaomi phone appears in the table, you might not see an update notification.

Honestly, I’d rather Xiaomi spend more time fixing software issues than rush a major HyperOS update to millions of devices.

What About Redmi, POCO and Russian Builds?

The firmware tracker covers Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices, including Global (MI), European (EU) and Russian (RU) firmware indexes.

However, the supplied list currently contains confirmed entries only for six Xiaomi smartphones in the MI and EU regions.

There are no Redmi, POCO or RU firmware entries in the provided table. That doesn’t automatically mean those devices or regions are excluded from HyperOS 4.

It simply means we don’t have specific build numbers or release statuses for them from this particular update list.

I expect more models to appear as Xiaomi continues expanding testing, but we should wait for verified firmware information rather than guessing which phone will receive the next build.

What I Think

From what I’ve seen, Xiaomi is taking a measured approach with its HyperOS 4 Global rollout.

Starting with flagship devices makes sense because Xiaomi can test the latest software on relatively powerful hardware before expanding availability.

I’m particularly happy to see the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra included alongside the Xiaomi 17 lineup. Existing flagship users deserve continued software support, not just customers buying the newest devices.

Still, Mi Pilot availability is not the same as a stable global launch. The real milestone will be when these builds begin moving into public and full release stages.

For now, the HyperOS 4 Global update has reported beta builds for six Xiaomi smartphones, with broader availability yet to be confirmed.

Is your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone on the list, or are you still waiting for HyperOS 4? Let me know your device in the comments!
